Tucked away in the heart of Vermont’s stunning landscapes lies Berners Mountain Meadows, a home for one of the world's most cherished breeds—the Bernese Mountain Dog. Our 18-acre a sanctuary where our dogs roam freely, explore lush fields, and spend time with our family. Here, we’re not just breeders; we’re caretakers, deeply committed to the well-being, socialization, and heritage of these remarkable dogs.
The story of Berners Mountain Meadows began in the ‘90s, during a journey through the breathtaking scenery of Switzerland. It was there that I first encountered the Bernese Mountain Dog, and I was instantly drawn to their beauty, gentle spirit, and unwavering loyalty. At the time, I was traveling with my golden retriever, and while I longed to bring a Berner into our lives, the timing wasn’t right.
Years later, in 2006, I found myself back in Vermont, surrounded by the serene beauty of New England. It was here that I realized I had discovered the perfect place to fulfill my teenage dream of raising Bernese Mountain Dogs. These dogs are my family, they share my home and my heart, and I hope you can experience the same.

OFA Certification:
Hips & Elbows: Certified through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) to ensure freedom from dysplasia.
DNA Testing:
Genetic testing screens for breed-specific diseases like Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), von Willebrand (vWD) and other hereditary conditions.
